This email arrived at the busy QLocal newsdesk - transferred this week from Ormskirk to Sambrook near Newport, Shropshire:
'Hi Roger,
One of your Aughton field reporters came across this UU tankering operation late last Wednesday evening.
Three large UU water-tankers were lined up along Winifred Lane, waiting to discharge their loads into a standpipe set-up in the corner of the field by the roundabout.
A UU worker on site explained that a damaged water main had been located earlier in the day, and following repairs the tankers were being used to top the main back up.
Each tanker holds 30,000 litres of water, and the tankers had been around 15 times so far, in an ongoing operation.
UU’s website references low pressure in L39 today with the damaged main being on Long Lane: https://www.unitedutilities.com/emer.../l39-ormskirk/'
Thanks guys!
