DETECTIVES have launched an investigation into the unexplained death of a 35-year-old man in Preston.

Officers were called to The Clifton Hotel in Fishergate Hill at 8.20pm on Sunday (May 20th) following reports a man had collapsed.

Jonathan Palgrave was taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital where he sadly later died.

Two days before his death, Mr Palgrave was found outside The Clifton Hotel, with a head injury

A team of detectives from Lancashire Constabulary’s Major Investigation Team is now working to establish the circumstances surrounding Mr Palgrave’s death.

Det Ch Insp Richard McCutcheon said: “We are following a number of lines of inquiry to try and establish what happened in the days before Jonathan died.
“We would ask anyone who might have seen Jonathan or has any information about him to speak to us as we continue our investigation.”
A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.
