Police have released a CCTV image of two men we would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Preston.

The incident occurred shortly before 3.40am on August 5th on the dual carriageway close to Riversway.

A taxi driver, a 47-year-old man, had picked up two male passengers when one of them reached through the partition and hit him to the face, before leaving the vehicle and hitting him again. The men then made off.

The victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a fractured cheekbone, bruising to his face and pain in his eyes and head.

We would now like to identify the two men in the attached CCTV image as part of our ongoing enquiries.

PC Katie Abbott, of Preston Police, said: “This incident left a taxi driver, simply going about his work, with some nasty injuries. We would now like to speak to the two men in the attached CCTV image as we believe they may be able to help with our enquiries.”
