Titanic memorabilia - First the Titanic was not a boat it was a ship.

An iron key that went to a locker on the Titanic has sold at auction for $104,000. £85,000
The key belonged to 23-year-old Sidney Sedunary, a steward on the boat.
He was among the 1,500 that died when the ship struck an iceberg during its maiden voyage from England to New York in 1912.
The key, attached to a brass tag stamped "Locker 14 F Deck" was sent to his widow after his body was discovered.
Prices for Titanic artefacts have soared in recent years.. In 2013, a violin believed to have been played as the doomed vessel sank sold for more than $1 million dollars.
People do get carried away in auctions. It is called auction fever.
The key does not look iron to me and I would not think it would be a locker key. A locker key on the Titanic, even 3rd class, I would imagine would be of a much better quality and a much more secure style, The tag may be original, but the key is more likely to a small writing box or may be a simple chest of drawers, probably owned by the man but has nothing to do with the Titanic other than it was found in the pocket of the dead Sidney Sedunary, who died on the ship.
May he rest in peace?
Sedunary, Sidney 2nd 3rd Class Steward
Lost 34, Emsworth Road, Shirley, Southampton
Age: 25 - Place of Birth: Newbury
Interesting that Mr Sidney Sedunary was LOST at sea, that to me means that his body was not found. I May be wrong on this.
In my key box, this is a box of over 500 keys that I offer a free service to people to use my keys to open an antique draw, cupboard, or any antique item that has a lock. I have at least 50 keys that all look like the key in the photograph.
I am not sure if the key is connected to the Titanic, just my opinion. I love the antique trade, I hope you do.
