Suspended Conservative Councillor David Barton has taken umbrage with officers of Sefton Council who have sat him next to newly-independent Councillor Tony Dawson in the Council chamber.
Councillor Barton looked shocked when he found his name tag next to the seat of fellow Dukes Ward Councillor Dawson who bid him a polite "good evening.". Councillor Barton immediately placed his briefcase in his designated seat and spent the entire council meeting sitting silently in a spare seat at the end of an aisle.
Councillor Barton, who is presently involved in a major court case in the Liverpool Crown Court, has refused, since the day of his election, to sit down to discuss priorities for Dukes Ward with fellow Dukes Ward councillors Tony Dawson and Pat Ball.

Cllr Dawson needs to realise he can't just proclaim "let's all put the rosettes aside and work for the good of the town" when he's spent years building a lib dem divide on the council. Nor can he expect Cllr Barton to be his willing sidekick given on the other site the great lengths he goes to outdo/undermine any Barton story.
Did he expect a hug or warm handshake? The fact he probably posted this story himself shows how out of touch he is with "working together" and "building relationships" and it can't just be a demand when kicked out of own club

I'm not sure on the legality of this but - do they have to return the Tufty badge?

Have our illustrious council representatives ever worked as a team?
