Where do you get your info from? the judge has no connection with either political party, his daughter works for a company who have done consultancy work for the Democrats, nether work nor have worked directly for either political party.

The charge involves falsifying business accounts, not a political issue, the main problem is finding a jury sufficiently unbiased to not wish to find Trump guilty from the very first.

This constant whining and crying from Trump that somehow Biden and the Democrats are behind all his charges is rubbish, there is not the slightest doubt that the aforementioned will not be inclined to shed any tears, but there is no evidence showing purely political anti Trump actions in the charges.

The charges and investigations into the attempts to overturn the 2020 election are growing as more states are looking deeper into the activities of election subverters, these states are not Democrat ruled states by a long way.

Certainly I couldn’t serve on a jury with Trump involved, I believe the utter scum bag should have been jailed long ago, but we shall see.

The majority of judges in the US are elected, not appointed.

To be elected, they tend to belong to either the Democrats or Republicans. If you replaced Merchan it would be with another judge with some party orientation.

Is this corrupt? In a funny way, no. Our process of appointing judges is so hidden that we simply have no idea of the machinations involved, and if their political preferences matter ( I think they do). Overall I prefer it to be open.

Any judge who would run a trial so as to get the arraigned convicted because he didn't agree with his politics would risk (a) an appeal and (b) ejection from the judiciary.

In any event it's the jury who decide guilt or innocence.

Making the claim that a judge is unsuitable is bit rich from the man who appointed Supreme Court justices who would suit his agenda; one of whom is on the verge of being charged with corruption himself.

Don’t forget the totally conflicted Judge Cannon, a judge so incompetent that she has already had to reverse 4 of her directions or decisions because they were actually illegal.

She has been taking direction from Trumps lawyers and is very close to being challenged as to her ability to even be a judge, let alone handling the Georgia case.

The judge’s position at the moment is to oversee that all the legal processes are followed correctly, if he gives any instructions or directions which can possibly be described as biased, he will challenged, just as Cannon has been on 4 occasions.

The jury declare guilt or innocence, I would expect this judge to especially careful with Trump in court. In reality more than a few commentators are complaining that Merchan is already showing Trump far too much leniency with regard to the gag order.

His daughter’s occupation is not relevant in any way, although of course Trump devotees will scrabble around seeking anything to whine about.

Trump is the only reason you’re getting excited, if the defendant was Joe Soap there would be no comment regarding the judge.

All judiciary, in all states, are elected and so have a party allegiance. If Merchan was replaced it could be by another Dem or a Republican.Also biased. possibly. That's why they have grand juries. Plus the ability to challenge jurors. as we have seen. It's no better, of worse, than our system.

And all this is a diversion from the case.Did he fabricate the record of the hush money payments made to Daniels? Cohen says he did, and went to prison for doing so. They will struggle to get past his evidence.

They get them all the same way in the end TAX they got Al Capone that way and that's how they will nail Trump, if he had just paid her off out of his own pocket he would have been ok, but greed will be his downfall he had to try to put it through the books to offset his tax.
