West Lancashire Borough Council is relaunching its bulky household waste collection service next week to help residents dispose of their waste responsibly.
The service had to be temporarily suspended following the third party provider used by the authority no longer being able to provide this valuable collection service to the community.
The Council has been looking at alternative ways in which the service can be delivered and the collection service will now be carried out by the Council's Street Scene Service.
Residents have been able to book collections since yesterday, Monday 29 October, online or by contacting Customer Services and collections will start the following week. Collections will take place from Tuesday, 6 November on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays depending on the area you live in.
Councillor Kevin Wilkie, portfolio holder for Street Scene, said: "The Council is really pleased to announce that this service, which provides great value for money to customers, is starting again. The easiest way to book appointments is online via the Council's website."
