    Bike thieves in ainsdale?

Hi just wondering if anyone in Ainsdale has had there bike stolen in the past two weeks? my 5yr olds bike went last Thursday afternoon from our front garden. The bike was not on show but behind my husbands car so whoever took it has had to walk up the path to see it. Then on Saturday my eldest son came home from work about 330pm put his bike in the same place, came in to get his phone, he was in the house no more than 10mins, went back out and his had gone too. There were a lot of neighbours out that afternoon so who ever is taking these bikes is very hard-faced as they could of been caught so easily. Yes we know that we should of locked the bikes up but they were out of view unless you came in my garden.

Most THIEVES are hard faced and if you don't lock it you lose it, a harsh lesson but you'll know better next time.

They steal from dead people, stealing from 5 year old kids doesn't faze them one little bit.

A few teens took a six year olds bike from Carr Lane park last week. They thought no-one wanted it apparently!

Why a six year old was on the park on his own is anyone's guess, however the poor lad now has a bike with no brakes, part sprayed! The Teens, who thought it was ok to take the bike, tried to spray it, change the handle bars and cut the brakes off! A lot of work for a bike they thought 'wasn't stolen'!

    stolen bikes

I've seen a lot of bikes on the backs of these so called travelling scrap men who traverse the streets of Birkdale during the week. But also I have seen many a front garden with things strewn about and it looks as if they've been there for weeks. It's as if the stuff isn't cared about and no one would notice if it went missing or stayed where it was.....Nothing changes in these gardens, it could be any area of Southport too.

I found two bikes in Southport two weeks ago, both pretty new. One was a teenagers 'Track' bike and one was a childs bike. I managed to get the childs bike back to my house, but when I went back to collect the other - it had gone.
The bike that I brought back was then collected by the local Police. So please make any enquiries to them.
