A581 Rufford to Croston Open on 10th

Whilst enjoying todays bike ride (virtually traffic-free) via Croston, took opportunity to speak with workers on-site at refurbished rail bridge.....They assured the road (A581) that's been closed for 3 months, will be re-opened on Wednesday afternoon 10th October.

Hooray. Having lived previously down that road it was wonderful having little traffic when they did the other bridge over 9 months. Now living in Eccleston I have had enough of driving the back roads of Mawdsley. I shall look forward to a more direct route and battling with large vehicles trying to get through Croston again

For me it's been a two-edged sword....On one hand, it's great with the bike, having no through-traffic whizzing past the ear. On the other hand, a re-opened road makes for way shorter journeys driving.
