He must have been a great guy - what a superb vehicle! I really am so sorry, going to miss seeing him around.
A neighbour of his told me that several times when he was out, he had his house broken into. He put up with a lot.

Very sad news. I have known Barry for 40 years, from when I joined the Hackney trade, although my dad knew him from his teens when he was an apprentice at Hattons.
In the year or so while I was planning my move to the U.S. I needed a job with flexible hours , so Barry let me drive one of his cabs which is where I watched some of his crazy ideas with vehicles come to fruition.
He was a great and very knowledgable character with motor vehicles and I enjoyed many very strong cups of tea in his kitchen talking about cars.
I always tried to visit him when on trips to England and have managed to collect some photos of his hearse in a previous incarnation.
It is with great sadness that I have to cross another old friend off the Christmas card list.
R.I.P Barry.
