many private car parks reserve a space for the disabled , but they have to pay ,In Manchester I have seen on road disabled spaces that have to be paid for , but in Sefton , council car parking spaces are free all day for the disabled , but you don't actually have to park in a disabled bay to receive this help , I have had people waiting for me to vacate a disabled bay when parking bays yards away have been available ! , and yes I have had the dirty looks as I have parked up and hopped out of the drivers seat , to then lift a wheelchair out of the boot ! , same people dont offer to help !

Standard bays are tighter and often not suitable for someone with a disability.
I've had many a dirty look off people, Think I'm immune to it now. Like most that make assumptions they know nothing.
