Depends on what your tastes are and how active you like to be. The Southport walking club appears to be good, they go to some very interesting places. There is also a leisure cycling club that meets regularly, and the Steam Museum is looking for volunteers. I hope you settle back OK - there have been a lot of changes.

There are several rotary clubs in Southport who are always on the lookout for new members. The smaller theatres often look for volunteers in many roles. Tennis club in Ainsdale are a friendly bunch. Also there are plenty of charity shops after volunteers or you could volunteer with our sports club to help out people with special needs - all fear ways to find new friends.

If you are into Folk Music, The Bothy Folk Club is still going after 52 years, meeting every Sunday at The Park Golf Club (at The Municipal Golf Course). If you fancy learning to dance http://www.verricoschoolofdance.co.uk/ will be starting a new absolute beginners class in January.
