We stop off at one or two enroot to other destinations.
Better café and toilets than motorway services plus one can stretch the legs in beautiful gardens.

I would get one in whilst you can still get them on prescription.

Been canny, I joined the National Trust for Scotland instead. Quite a bit cheaper, and you still get entrance to all National Trust for England properties. Probably never even go to a Scottish one.

No venues don't charge, I go to the pine woods at Formby several times a month for a walk so well worth it for me.

Do you bank with Natwest by any chance as they do free National Trust passes with certain types of accounts.

I disagree strongly with any charges made for going on Public Land. These areas should be kept in order with donations, not charges!

The charges are to access the private car park, not the "public land" indeed, you can access the whole nature reserve without charge on foot. This applies to the vast majority of the NT's land.

The annual subscription covers the entry costs, there's no additional entry charges.
There may be parking charges if NT don't own the carpark or additional fees for example Brownsea Island is NT so would be free but the ferry over is privately owned so is chargeable.
It really depends on how you look at fees, I treat it as a donation to a charity, if I manage to visit enough property's in a year to outweigh the cost then that's a bonus, they soon mount up Cragside for example is £18 for non NT members.

It isn't public land. Prior to the National Trust buying it in the mid 60s, it was owned by the Weld Blundell Estate.
