Parking over leaves
Why oh why do people insist on stopping and parking over piles of leaves when they can clearly see the workmen trying to clear them away?

What leaves?
What workmen?
Reminds me of a song.
Autumn leaves.

When did you last see people trying to clear
leaves? Watch these gardeners working on appartment / flats etc they just blow
everything into the street.

There is a group of bungalows in Duke Street - outside on the road cars are continuously parked - the leaves are a foot deep and left there for years.

So who do you think clears them? The leaf fairies perhaps?

Our gardeners do exactly that. I've never seen any council workers sweeping up leaves. They barely allocate enough workers to clear rubbish, never mind leaves.
Should people not park their cars outside their homes, in case they randomly get a visit from a leaf clearer?

You're letting yourself down Toodles - read what I wrote again. I am confused though because they clearly are being collected so it must be the leaf fairies doing it.

For any fans of The Sopranos... does anyone remember A.J.'s car in the season finale? Don't park over a pile of dry leaves!
Watch at about the 1.35 mark.

You're correct, I didn't read it properly. My apologies.

This illustrates my point perfectly. About a year ago the council sent a team here, very early, to try and clear them before cars turned up. Whilst there a taxi driver pulled up and parked on top of a pile that had been swept together. When this was pointed out to him and he was politely asked to park elsewhere whilst the work was on going his response was - f##k off, I'm going to bed!

I am positive that I am not the only one to have seen the little road sweeping vehicle operating on the roads in Southport!

There was a News item a few of weeks ago outlining the Councils Plan for dealing with Leaf Fall.

The leaves were amazing ray of colour.
Did not take the camera unfortunately so found 2 photo's almost as nice from the internet.
