QUICK to critizie, be quicker to compliment
When people have problems with a product or a shop they are so quick to criticize and condemn.
Well I would like to complement the butchers on Chapel street.
I heard the lady standing out side the shop today shouting "TWO FOR £5" I took her up on her offer and bought a piece of cooked pork and a whole cooked chicken both for £5.
I have eaten the piece of pork for my late lunch...... It was the nicest, tenderest piece of pork I have tasted.
Well done who ever cooked it and thanks again.
I recommend this place 100%
I do not know the name of the shop, may be one of the posters do.
Why not recommend a local shop.
Shop locally and save our town.

I'd like to compliment my corner shop, it's situated by a rather large very busy roundabout at the junction of Town Lane and the A570 Southport .

What do you class as a local shop?
The butchers in question have dozens of branches across the north and midlands. Not that that is any reason not to shop there.
Surely the aim of any business is to grow and expand, nothing wrong with that. Shop wherever gives you the best value for your money.
Just because someone local opens a shop locally with the aim of making money for themselves doesn't mean they're deserving of your cash if they aren't offering something you want to buy at a competitive price.

Butchers
Another really nice butcher to recommend is Roberts just passed Tesco Express Birkdale. All his meats are of excellent quality and the casserole packs are really good at £12 for four different meats use them all the time.

OBSERVATION
Asda
Publication 16th -29th
E02220357
This Asda publication was put trough my door with one of the Asda adverts offering the GEORGE HOME 1 litre rice maker for £10 reduced from £16
I visited the Southport store and was told it is not reduced. You have read the advert wrong.
I then went home and returned with the advert.
They now told me the advert was wrong.
I rang head office and they told me it has not been reduced.
The reductions of all the items in the home section also had not been reduced.
I cannot understand why advertise a product that is reduced, all that is going to do is get up the noses of customers.
I spent nearly 30 minutes getting through to Head office in Leeds being given wrong numbers by Asda staff.
You may say all this to save £6.
you may be right,

you may be right,
Even if the item was reduced Asda could still have refused to sell you it as there is no law to say they "have" to sell you anything , least that is what I'm reliably told by a solicitor friend of mine .

Advertising standards, who ever they are
misrepresented.
VW car comes to mind.
Grassroots just think a 1000 people walked in to the supermarket on a weekend and took off the shelf 50 items and put them in their shopping cart went to the cash out and changed their mind and walked out leaving a full cart.
This happened and the firm concerned changed their policy that was in dispute, by the Monday morning.

Today ASDA Head office in Leeds rang me to apologist for the unfortunate incident that I had been part of. Elliot said (note we are on first name terms already) The actions that you saw John by members of the ASDA staff was not in keeping in making ASDA Britain number one supermarket. I apologies on behalf of Asda and to show good faith I will get the manager of the Southport Branch to visit you at your house and give you free of charge the items you expected to buy the other night.
At 5-00pm just an hour later the manager of Asda knocked on my door.
HOW ABOUT THAT FOR SERVICE
Asda saw a problem and put it right, they went overboard to keep me as a customer.
I have to complement ASDA. THANK YOU
