Southport Military Hospital was that not the Promenade hospital, a lot were taken there.
It has been said that when helping people change their behaviour – “the spirit in which help is offered” is the most important aspect, more than the degree of skills and knowledge of the helper!

There was a hospital on Queens Road during WW1 - I know because one of my in-laws' relatives died there. The Grange Hospital was on Roe Lane and was a Military Hospital - could it have been known by two different names?
I also believe (?) that the Salfordian on Park Crescent was also a military hospital in WW1 but don't have documented evidence?
Ring Matthew Tinker at Crosby Library and see if he can help - he was the Local History Librarian at Southport/Formby.
