The dreadful truth is that when people come to see their MP they have run out of better ideas.
Voting Tory will cause your wife to have bigger breasts and increase your chances of owning a BMW
I'm backing David Cameron's campaign out of pure, cynical self-interest.
I'm a one-nation Tory
I can hardly condemn UKIP as a bunch of boss-eyed, foam-flecked Euro hysterics, when I have been sometimes not far short of boss-eyed, foam-flecked hysteria myself.

I would imagine that a considerable majority don't like the full veil, but Boris being Boris has the finesse of using a JCB to collect eggs, if there is sufficient opposition to wearing this clothing, then get it banned just as some countries already have, until then the wearers are breaking no law, just following an alien culture, like it or not this is not anti-anything as it stands.

Letterboxes never occurred to me.
Like Boris I feel women should be free to wear a Burqa.
I hardly give her a glance anyway.
Too busy looking at the man(and there always is one) accompanying.
Is Mr Burqa the type delighted to humour his wife's Burqa wearing wish or the type who insists his wife wears one?

From what I've seen usually the latter, not that I have much experience in this area, but a time spent working in Blackburn was quite a revelation.

Anti-social! Anti-British! Anti-equality!

Quite common to see in Bury.
From the Islamic community it always the women who state it is a woman's choice and pride to wear the garment.
That is why I look carefully at Mr Niqab.
I am curious to know why all these strong minded and independent women do not insist their husbands wear some outward signs of
religious devoutness.

If women should be free to wear a Burqa, then men should be free to wear a baraclava, a motorcycle helmet , hoodies or indeed a burkqa, to hide their faces when in public places. Imagien what would happen then?
Women are required to wear a Burqa to prevent other men from feeling attracted to another man's wife, daughter etc.,it is a form of possession and oppression against women. It is wrong! Why are the Muslim men not required to wear a Burqa also? If they were then one could argue that the male and female are equal - but they are not!

Men are free to wear all you mentioned.
Some have worn a Burqa.
Do mean that it is hard to understand why in a marriage the woman only shows an outward display of religion whilst the men wear Western clothes?
If so I agree.
Mr Hamble would have to wear the short straw in our marriage.

Ah! The Burqa is not a religious requirement! There is nothing in the Quoran relating to women having to cover their faces.
In the UK, men are not allowed to wear motorcycle helmets/hoodies/baraclavas - in shops/banks etc., It is not a law as such but can lead to serious problems if not followed:
"During the 2011 United Kingdom anti-austerity protests one of the temporary policies discussed in the COBRA meeting was to ban the covering of the face during the riots. Generally only enforced in areas in a riot stage, none were arrested solely for wearing masks, only ordered to take them off. However, many arrested who committed other crimes, such as looting and attacking police officers, were charged with failing to adhere to the mask ban as well as all the other infringements when placed before the court.
For a century, covering or blacking one's face was a criminal act that could lead to the death penalty; the Black Act was repealed in 1823."

Whilst on holiday in Penang there was a couple having breakfast, the woman was dressed in a burka, the man in shorts and t shirt. The woman had to keep lifting the front of the burka to put food into her mouth!!! I thought it was quite demeaning for the woman.

When in Rome.
If western girls went to a strict Muslim country walked down the street in tight shorts and a bikini top whilst drinking an alcoholic drink what would happen. Maybe they could all demonstrate in bikinis to assert their right to dress as they wish.
When in Rome.
