I've just seen. I'm wondering if their injuries, what ever they are, could have been minimised by wearing more protective clothing?
It looks like the driver has driven through them at speed. I hope there are no serious injuries?
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants, they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Looks like another incident of "cultural enrichment".

According to police sources he is refusing to co-operate, if the same atrocity had taken place in, lets assume Russia or Israel, I wonder if we would be reading the same headlines re co-operation, I think not, country is a joke.

A video of the incident https://uk.yahoo.com/news/watch-shoc...114101943.html no doubting the intent in those actions.

In spite of your cycling paranoia, fairly clear that cyclists as such were not his target, in fact this scum bag drove through a number of cyclists obviously trying to get onto the footpath inside the barriers.

From there whether his target was the police on duty there or hoping to drive along the footpath, possibly unaware that there were further barriers to prevent precisely that happening.

Fortunately his effort was not a great success, and of course he is "refusing to co-operate with police", probably because his effort came to practically nothing, the guy is described as a British citizen of foreign origin, but as yet his motives are not clear.

Perhaps not his sole target, or he could simply have done for a bunch of cyclists at any busy London junction......On the other hand, he didn't exactly go out of his way to avoid them either. Imo he displayed a total disregard for the safety of those vulnerable road-users. Seemed reminiscent of the London Bridge attack a year ago, from which he may possibly have drawn inspiration.

    This is the sad truth.

This event will be forgotten in weeks, then it will happen all over again.
Orwell said "If there is hope, it lies in the proles." Whilst champagne socialists see diversity idealised at university, the common folk experience it first hand in their neighbour hoods.

The video shown does not correspond to the media reports published. The car is not driving at speed, had it been travelling at the speed claimed the cyclists would have been thrown up and over the bonnet of the car, as it was there were three injured, two went to hospital but were discharged soon after - the driver appears to have taken a wrong turn onto a cycle path, then braked. The cyclists, not expecting a vehicle along that section, tried to get out of its way, as the driver braked but the driver failed to bring the vehicle to a stop in time to prevent knocking the cyclists over.
There are not fifteen cyclists on the road as claimed and there does not appear to be a cyclist trapped under the car as has been stated. The car could not have accelerated away after the incident, as has been reported because it was jammed up against the barriers.
Just more exaggerated media reporting - well over the top!
Now try the Italian Bridge collapse - that is real and it is horrendous!

Clearly the guy couldn't care less who he hit, but it was certainly not some motorist trying to kill off cyclists as you imply, hope those injured make a speedy recovery.

Which if you're right would be down to 'careless' or maybe 'dangerous' driving.....Authorities however, are inclined towards a deliberate intent to terrorise his victims. Have to wait and see how this eventually pans out sentence-wise.

Westminster terror suspect named as Salih Khater, a British citizen of Sudanese origin https://uk.news.yahoo.com/westminste...075102284.html

Reports say he is unknown to our Intelligence Services. It would seem his cunning plan was ill conceived & quite possibly done with anger and little thought. I wonder if will be invited to leave the Country that took him in and if he will be stripped of his citizenship?

Probably originally came by boat across the Med, seeking asylum from war in Sudan. Imo, these groups should only receive temporary asylum in the EU during the troubles in their homelands - then be repatriated. I can see no need to grant permanent citizenship. Whilst purely economic migrants should be immediately returned to wherever they came from.

I don't know what video you watched, but the car clearly ploughed through cyclists & pedestrians, and didn't brake.

The car accelerated away after hitting the cyclists/pedestrians. It came to a halt when it crashed into the barrier, which was some distance away.
