Im always fiddling around with settings, from ISO to Exposure compensation... but a good starting point is.. ISO 400 ... Aperture f/8 ... Shutter speed 2 sec .
Great that you have a cable :-) If you can.. lock you mirror up too
Ill be there again tonight, not sure which spot to pick though

Love all the photos, thanks to all for sharing. Does anyone know of a photography course run locally? I want to be able to use manual settings on my camera. I've checked at the tech but they don't do one suitable. Any help would be very grateful.

Not a course but Southport Photographic Society is on a Monday night at EMMANUEL CHURCH on CAMBRIDGE ROAD @ 7.45pm

I have found it very helpful in the 9 months or so I've had a Dslr. Lots of talks and competitions, Which you don't have to enter, but let you know what's right/wrong with an image.

I didn't find it helpful with how to USE your camera.....They let you know what is right or wrong but not how to correct your errors!
