You and your co posters tacit support for bullies and puerile ad hominem comments about my support for the rule of law speak volumes.

I think I'm right in saying that Sefton MBC and the police have to give permission for such marches.
Does this not mean that they are tacitly supporting religious bigotry?
What might happen if an anti-Muslim march was planned or, on a broader scale, an anti-LGBT march?
Given the tolerant nature of the authorities ('Come to Southport, express your hate, and break the law for a day') the KKK would have a field day here.

Thousands of people, spending thousands of pounds. With little to no trouble, and you want to put a big stick in there to stir it up. Well not you personally as your sat at home moaning. Biggest keyboard warrior on the forum.

Nobody needs permission to march, it's a basic right. Although you do need to notify the authorities a march will be taking place.
Right wing organisations regularly march in British towns and cities - thankfully not here.

Its a shame that the policeman in pic 5 didn't turn round quickly to see the little boy gesturing his opinion.
Every year people ask why is this allowed why this why that, most of the locals don't want this and stay out of town on the day but the powers that be still allow it, well Orange lodge, lodge is a bit of a clue, its a bit high up to stop, the Christmas lights amuse me that there's a great big pyramid at the Masonic hall end of Lord st... I can just imagine one bowler hatted gent saying to another don't worry the public will think its a Christmas tree.

Whilst appreciating the efforts made to clear rubbish from the outside of this pub in an ideal and civilised world they should not have to. Same thing seems to happen in Britain after most public gatherings or sporting events. Why cannot people just hang onto their rubbish until they find somewhere suitable to dispose of it....or even take it home with them!! A bit like a herd of incontinent cows defecating where they stand.

Maybe Ped, but, how much of that is offset by extra policing and clearing up after. Plus, the businesses that have to shut, and their lost trade?

"No need to provoke a situation" hmm .
I suppose your theories could be brought up as an excuse for not challenging any wrong doer.
Why bother policing the event at all ?
You haven't really thought this through have you ?

Hi Mick, I might have missed the point here, but Masonic Lodges have nothing to do with, or have any connection with Orange Lodges.

Following the Battle of the Diamond in 1795 near Loughgall, the new Protestant organization was founded. Like Freemasons a Grand Lodge was soon formed. ( The founding members of the Orange Institution were Freemasons as was King William III, Prince of Orange ).
so no similarity there then.
