Detectives in Sefton are appealing for information following a robbery at an off-licence in Lydiate on Friday, 24th September.
Shortly after 8.30pm two men, believed to have been armed with a handgun and knife, walked into Bargain Booze on Liverpool Road, Lydiate, and threatened staff before demanding cash from the till. They escaped with the cash and were seen to get into a red Honda Civic that had been parked on Barnes Drive. The car was driven off at speed towards Ormskirk Road.
The offender, believed to be in possession of a gun, was wearing a sky blue polo shirt, a baseball cap and a scarf over his face.
The second male, who is believed to have been in possession of a knife, was wearing a black anorak with the hood closed up over his face and black gloves.
Detective Inspector Mike Dalton, said: "This was a very frightening incident for the staff who were working in the store at the time. Thankfully they weren't injured during the incident, but they were extremely distressed.
"I would like to reassure people who live locally that we are doing everything we can to arrest those responsible.
"I would appeal to anyone who saw anything which may help our inquiries, or who recognises the descriptions of the offenders, to get in contact with us as soon as possible."
Anyone with information can contact detectives at Sefton CID on 0151 777 3046, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
