An Aughton couple are making a steady recovery after their classic MG was involved in a smash with a young US tourist in Rufford.

Ian and Louise Anderson were returning home from Freckleton in their classic MG TD when they were in collision with a Toyota Auris driven by Gabriella Seeley, 25, of South Jordan, Salt Lake County, USA: http://southport.m.qlocal.co.uk/sout...l-55031918.htm.

She was charged with driving without due care and attention - it's thought she got confused by her sat nav when approaching Spark Lane just prior to the busy A59 junction with Croston Road.

Seeley was fast tracked through the UK justice system and fined £2,000, received six points on her UK drivers licence and ordered to pay £170 victim surcharge along with £85 towards Crown prosecution costs.

Quite a stiff fine.
