The annual St. Joseph’s Hospice’s Ladies Days are always a sell-out and raise thousands of pounds for the hospice every year.

But with hundreds of dads, sons and grandads passionate about supporting it, the hospice has decided to create an event especially for them.

The hospice, in Thornton, is holding its first ever Sportsman’s Dinner on Friday 11th May, to raise money and give the men of Merseyside a great night out full of laughs, football and beer. It has even secured some very special guests to join them.

Footballing legends, Aughton's Roy Evans (for the Reds) and Kevin Ratcliffe (for the Blues) will be there to share their exciting and eventful footballing careers with a few laughs along the way. Comedian and impressionist, Mark Langley, will host the night and provide even more laughs - even the official FA Cup will be there in all its glory.

To top it all off, will be a three-course meal and a bar, plus it couldn’t be easier to get to as it’s all taking place at the stunning new cabaret club, The Bentley, on Brunswick Street in central Liverpool.

Laura Smith, community fundraiser, said: “This is going to be a fantastic night so bring along your mates, brothers or colleagues from work and just have a great time. Your support will make a huge difference to the hospice and, thanks to our event sponsor B&M Supplies in Southport, every ticket sold will go straight towards caring for our patients and their loved ones at a very difficult time.
