PRESSURE GROUP 38 DEGREES SLAM S&F CCG FOR FOI REQUEST REFUSAL.

Campaign group 38 Degrees have slammed Southport & Formby CCG for their
decision to withhold the names of organizations selected to bid for
Southport NHS community nursing services. A Freedom of Information request
for a list of selected bidders was declined by the CCG.

A spokesperson for 38 Degrees said, "the CCG appear to be out of touch
with the people they aspire to represent, the general public do not want
the NHS to be Privatised but if we are to venture down that road then
surely we have a right to know if the CCG has selected companies that move
their profits out of the U.K. with a specific aim of ‘dodging tax’, or,
organizations with dubious care quality history, or, other conflicting
interests, to bid for our health service?"

Paul Bradshaw who asked the reference FOI question has appealed the FOI
decision, because the overriding public interest in ensuring only companies
who abide by the spirit of UK law and tax laws are permitted to bid for
publicly funded services.

38 Degrees will continue to press the CCG on the *Privatisation of Our
Hospital Services*
