A well known Ormskirk business has made a ‘classic’ move to open in Scarisbrick.

The Ormskirk Motorcycle Centre was a fixture on Wigan Road and will be remembered by many as Herrington & Parker motorcycles which opened back in 1963. It then changed hands in 1988 and became Ormskirk Motorcycle Centre where owners Steve Bryson (left) and Roy Sherrington gained a great reputation for work with classic machines of all ages

The premises were sold off two months ago and the search for re-locating in Ormskirk proved difficult to say the least!

Said Steve: “Trying to find somewhere that would allow motor trade isn’t easy and Ormskirk had nothing that was suitable.

“We were then approached by the owner of Vincent’s garden centre in Scarisbrick who is a motorcycle enthusiast, and after a bit of chatting and several cups of tea we hit upon a deal, and here we are!”

It’s a brilliant location on the main Southport Road, and the pair will be offering the same great service they’re renowned for - and are hoping new and existing customers will come and join them.

There’s a cafe on site plus other shops to browse, and talks are ongoing about holding a motorcycle and classic car event there in the near future.

It’s believed that Pangea of County Road, Ormskirk have bought the building as a warehouse.
