Earlier this week with the Team here at "Bistrot Pierre" No.377-381 Lord Street on a third guided tour of the exciting restoration and regeneration being done at Lord Street Central.

Having been able to observe and take note of the many vast restorative works which are presently underway I was also delighted to continue to provide the Team with ongoing restorative guidance and support during this most remarkable site visit to date.

It was a pleasure to see the continuing restorative journey in progress of the extensive interior decoration coupled with the imminent transitional entire refurbishment on a like-for-like basis of the acclaimed Verandahs adjoining with Nevill Street.

With the latter phase now in full sway I welcome warmly all new improvements being made in earnest to bring back the true prominence and splendour to Southport's iconic Victorian boulevard. The graceful silver steel tile ceiling is also another welcome addition with its rich detailed inlay.


At this time I should like to personally thank the Property Owners, "Bistrot Pierre" and their Contractors "Wiljon Sheffield Limited" and the Construction Crew who are revitalising this cross-section of our beloved local high street for the benefit of the local community.

I also implore the remaining Property Owners to join aboard this exciting ongoing campaign as we seek to find more new high quality unique retailers for our classic boutique units which will ultimately benefit all.

I must say that those lucky workmen seem to be highly impressed with the expert guidance Cllr Barton is providing them with.

At this rate there'll be photos of acolytes with notebooks feverishly writing down his every word a la Kim Jung Un.....

I bet the advice he got was two words one beginning with F and the second beginning with O. They should have locked him in a room full of shovels and told him to take his PICK.
