What about the tanker and white car, they pass milliseconds earlier with the police car moving so must also have passed on red!

Wasn't the cyclist turning onto the road? The others were travelling straight through

"A traffic offence report and some advice", I'll bet a motorist wouldn't have got away that, it would have been £100 fine and three points. I'm in no way condoning driving through a red light, but as a certain poster relentlessly comes on here saying cyclists are equal, surely they should be equal and face the same punishments as other road users.

You don't need a driving licence to ride a bike, which is why a cyclist wouldn't get 3 points, however, filing a traffic offence report should lead to a summons and the courts could issue a fine plus costs, which could well be more than the £100 for a ticket.

I quite agree.
On another point, Let's not start knocking all cyclists though just because one goes through a red light. We are not all the same, just like drivers aren't all the same...!

I've seen cyclists going through on red and i'll bet if there was an accident the motorist would be blamed and a claim made against the motorists insurance.
