A Vauxhall Corsa was reduced to a crisp after it went up in flames late on Thursday night.
The car - owned by a local student - was recovered yesterday afternoon from The Windmill car park … it's believed an engine fault caused the blaze.
It's the second car fire in a week local fire officers have dealt with; this from the LFRS incident page:
Date: 08/10/2018
Time: 12:25:00
Address: Holborn Hill, Ormskirk
Incident Number: 1810002571
A fire engine and crew from Ormskirk responded to a report of a car on fire at the roadside on Holborn Hill Ormskirk. The car’s occupants were out of the vehicle on arrival of firefighters and were safe. Smoke was coming from the engine compartment, where diesel fuel had leaked onto the exhaust, generating smoke but there was no fire to extinguish.
