The countdown has started for the Liverpool City Region to vote for its first ever Liverpool City Region Mayor.
The election takes place on Thursday, 4 May 2017 and to help you through the process, a Liverpool City Region Mayoral election booklet is in the process of being distributed to all households across the Liverpool City Region (Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral).
The booklet outlines the voting process, along with a list of the candidates.
In addition, a frequently asked questions document has been produced answering your questions around the election, why we need a Liverpool City Region Mayor and what their role is

I doubt this 'tin-pot' election can go ahead now following this dissolution of parliament this morning. Would be interesting to get the returning officer's for L'pool CR comments given Manchester are seeking confirmation of the legal position? Surely national interest prevails over electing a Mayor?
