It was confirmed yesterday that the Liverpool and Manchester mayoral elections would go ahead as planned. There was never any doubt they would (there are local elections in May on the same day in other parts of the country that will still happen), Manchester are seeking advice on whether the Gorton parliamentary by-election should go ahead.
