Former SFC striker Terry Fearns let out of jail to play football

Former Southport FC striker Terry Fearns who was jailed for his part in a drugs operation is now playing football at weekends for Skelmersdale United.

He is let out of prison to play football as part of a scheme to re-integrate offenders into society. He was jailed in 2010 for 4 years and 8 months.

Let's hope he can do something positive on the pitch for Skem Utd to atone for his prior misdemeanours and can learn from his mistakes

If he can be allowed out of prison to play football makes you wonder why 'low risk' prisoners as a group cannot be allowed out under supervision to carry out community tasks but I suppose as soon as one of them absconded their would be an outcry

    Problems, problems, problems !
