Report from Keith Hubbard
The successful Re-union for Ormskirk’s Teenagers of the 60's 'Rockin’ at The YPC' is to return for a thirteenth show at Ormskirk Civic Hall on Saturday 25th November!
Themed to recreate the atmosphere of the local haven of youth in the 1960’s - 'Ormskirk Young Peoples Club', then affectionately known as 'The YPC'.
And the show will rock to the sounds of the Rock ‘n’ Roll years, Mersey Beat, The Swinging 60’s, reliving the excitement of an era that will stand out for all time in the history of popular music.
'Rockin’ at The YPC' is a fundraiser in aid of Stand Up To Cancer/Cancer Research UK. Since the first YPC gig in October 2010, the contributions from the six monthly events, have raised thousands of pounds to help in the fight against cancer.
It'll again be headlined by Shooter, together with special guests, Merseycats own Norman Petherbridge, sweet little Rock ‘n’ Roller Sue Raymond and guitar man Ritchie Thompson.
YPC resident band The Rebels and the return of YPC favourites, The Topspots, complete the programme.
Tickets in advance are £10 and can be obtained from Ormskirk Civic Hall, Tel 01695 576607 email info@ormskirkcivichall.co.uk, and Hesfords DIY, Moorgate, Ormskirk Tel 01695 572564.
