If an Italian Doctor can do something than as a Father he must act.

I must say the News coverage ITV & BBC has been a little bias.

They seem to interview people who are in pyjamas or full of tattoos or working class people with little education and have bad body language to portray the supporters of Alfie Army

I took it on my self to support the father when he asked people to come down to Alder Hay to stand/vigil and show him some support . He had a plane waiting all medical help was available but he was not allowed to use his gut feeling and take his son abroad for medical help.
We all have our own opinions but with out all the facts some times our opinion can be wrong.

The Fathers judgement may be wrong, if his child dies he understands that, but first give the Italian doctors a chance.

By the way I had no problem visiting the hospital and when inside I could hear no noise.

The people out side respected the hospital and the patients.

The police's body language was a problem, all with body armour. I think the police misjudged the Scoucers, there was no trouble.

Must have been nearly 100 police ...It was the police cars parked on pavements yellow lines on bends that obstructed the entrance.

I even spoke to the Father and Mother, believe me lovely people.

In Alder Hey hospital there is a prayer room............. Sorry to say NO ONE WAS IN IT.

    Love to Alfie

While I have fortunately not been put in this situation, I have come very close to loosing a child, who was saved by Alder Hey.

    ceam

I too have to thank the treatment My son received at the age of 8 when he got cancer.

    He recovered now 6ft 4ins 15 stone.

Funny how some parents with children in the hospital have been saying how bad it is on the Alder hey parents facebook page(not linked to the hospital), Also how badly it's affecting the doctors and nurses who are there to help and save not only this poor boy, buy hundreds like him.

The father is certainly not a flag bearer for me.

Oh yeah - it's on Facebook so it must be true.

I think it needs to be acknowledged that any group are going to report the situation either from their perspective or in line with their particular agenda. The media are going to zero in on what ever makes for good newsprint or headlines. Inevitably there will be those members of society present who are less eloquent at expressing themselves and, might shock or alarm those of a more nervous disposition.
Happily today, people do not just take as gospel whatever comes out of the mouths of those who previously were thought of as our betters and will challenge opinion.

As it seems personal anecdotes are all the rage at the moment - when my wife was due to give birth to our youngest the 'health service proffesional' involved insisted that there was no need for her to be admitted. I disagreed and kicked up a fuss no, I insisted she be admitted considering her condition and symptoms presented.
Funnily enough the Consultant at the hospital concurred with me and wished to know 'what idiot' had decided against an immediate admission.
Had I blithely accepted the opinion of those who 'know better' I could have lost them both.

Think back to recent incidents concerning Morcambe Bay and West Cumbria Trusts.

It's a facebook group, Of parents, A closed group. Not a group of hangers on thinking they know everything.
They don't have an agenda, Just very poorly children in this very hospital, that see every day the lengths the doctors and nurses go to, to save every child. Seeing things and the effect of those things first hand. They certainly don't pull any punches about any short comings of the hospital.

You all seem to forget that this has gone to every court in the land and they ALL come back with the same result. It's in the child's best interests to allow nature to take it's naturally progression and to allow this child to pass away and be at peace. Not to be artificially kept alive with no hope of recovery.

The Dad actually said that he's a healthy young boy. This is clearly not true.

It is obvious that (lets give him a name ) Alfie is ill.

When I spoke to the Father, Mr Evans, he indicated that if his son, Alfie dies on the way to Rome or dies in Rome at least we tried. He is going to die anyway in Alder Hey.

The crowed are Scousers, working class people doing what they think is best way to support the parents.

I do not agree with bouncy castle ice cream cart type behaviour.

But in all groups of people you will find some that say and act wrongly even politicians say things that years later we cringe, like Enoch Powell speech.

    latest...........
Lord Justice Davis, who is heading the three-strong panel of appeal judges, told lawyers that at the start of the hearing that doctors had agreed that there was "no hope".

    He said:

We cannot have a kind of legal 'Groundhog Day' where you come back again and again and again on the same point."

    – Lord Justice Davis

A second appeal judge, Lady Justice King, said doctors' unanimous opinion was that Alfie "could not be saved".

Alfie's parents were not at the appeal court hearing, which is expected to end in the next few hours.
Alder Hey Children's Hospital say continuing to treat Alfie was "unkind" and "futile" but his parents Tom Evans, 21, and Kate James, 20, from Bootle, Merseyside, want to take him to a hospital in Rome and say they have a private ambulance and jet on stand-by.

His parents lost a challenge at the Court of Appeal to the ruling he should have palliative care and failed to have the decision overturned at the Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights.
    Their Plight carries on.

By the way inside the hospital I could not hear any noise. But people who live by the hospital say that police cars with Syrians and ambulances keep them awake at night. but as I said they chose to live next to a Hospital.

Twitter and Facebook comments are a disgrace on both side of the view point.

lets hope the outcome is peaceful.

I do not see the local MP's and the Mayors getting involved to help calm the troubles.

again I say the prayer room was empty

Why? to make it more personal?
I don't know the young boy and neither do you.

He's a terminally ill young boy who has been kept artificially alive for months. Treated with the utmost care by Alder Hey. It will have been a hard thought and long decision to stop this intervention.
It's been to court, court of appeal, Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights.
Yet not one of them has said, "Hmm hold on maybe there is a chance." ,and I'm sure they know a lot more than you, me or anyone else has been told.

The stresses being put on the staff, patients and parents in that hospital must be horrific. I'm in the fortunate position that even though my Son has lots of issue he is extremely healthy, But I'm also in the position of knowing LOTS of children that are not so lucky. All of them get amazing care at Alde Hey. Many being minor miracle in their ability to defy all odds and come out on top. Brought back from the brink by the very Hospital that for some reason think Alder hey are some evil beings that don't want to save lives.

Hi, Your opinion is as valid as my opinion, we probably agree on 99% of the Alfie situation.

The point is................ If either one of us was in the shoes of the father of Alfie would we give in when a doctor in Italy is offering to help.

Also it is a disgrace how the odd person in the crowd has acted and how the media has blown up certain events such as one comment of the web.

The bottom line is, the Alfie child has an illness that I believe Alder Hey cannot help any more and a hospital in Italy is willing to help.

It could be like William Harvey's advice, very famous in medical circles
"Don't think; try." referring to Jenner who probably saved more lives than any other person on the planet.
