After Qlocal exclusively revealed earlier in the week the shocking state of Lord Street after the recent resurfacing works the Council have been along and hastily placed some tarmac in the holes.

It now looks even worse. Hundreds of thousands of pounds were spent ripping up the old red tarmac and replacing it with black that is now starting to look like a patchwork quilt.

I presume this is just a temporary fix until the contractors are required to redo it under the warranty provisions that will have been included in the contract.....?

  4. Alikado says:08/02/2018 01:15 PM
I very much doubt that the Council have been to patch it up, it will have been the contractor.

  5. Ceam says:08/02/2018 01:41 PM
Well that looks a quality fix :-/. Even as a temporary fix that's below par I'd have thought.

Badly laid by an incompetent company, buy cheap pay twice. We will be having a continuous flow of patches done by a company who will provide excuses, then it will all have to be done again in a few years.

Who is responsible for roads on Sefton Council? Well it’s our old friend Councillor John Fairclough! The very same person who refused to remove snow from our main roads a few years ago. So folks don’t expect much by way of repairs.

  8. salus.populi says:08/02/2018 04:36 PM
Was it worth the effort making a half arsed attempt at a repair when it's obvious the whole job is a shoddy cock up?

Disgusting waste of taxpayers money , who hires these cowboys , whoever it is they should be investigated .

    ITS PURE AND SIMPLY "CORRUPTION"

And it won’t be long until Sefton Councillors announce that they will be dipping into residents pockets to steal an extra 6%......because the Council’s skint.

That's Bootle for you .get out of sefton give us our identity back

  13. justbecause says:09/02/2018 09:02 AM
It’s an absolute disgrace that a road that had £thousands spent on on it less than six months ago should have potholes that require filling. Basically a case of a cowboy Council employing cowboy Contractors.

You can blame the government for that not the council. They are the ones with the fend for your self mentality. Meaning well off areas get more money and poorer get worse off.
