I still expect one day for the scooby doo mask removal and it to be John Pugh as this is a pretty disappointing plan that lacks ambition and specific actions. For example on his five points:
1) What is he doing about this, we had John Pughs short lived “town centre first” which centred on an expensive pop-up banner and blocking Meols cop Sainsbury’s. How about using influence to get investment in the town and find a way of attracting businesses that can deal with the change in shopping trends
2) He’s been in the job a year how about some specific plans rather than a couple of photo ops in meeting fellow Tory MPs
3) the ever popular Southport out of Sefton without a plan which is odd from such anti-Brexiteers like the libs and tories. Maybe they should look at themselves and think why are they not up to making it work for Southport rather than its always someone else’s fault. If you had colleagues like Shaw and Dawson in your place of work would you want to help them with the terrible way they behave?
4) nice idea but how about the grassy beach and other things too, allver generuc, what is he personally going to do about it
5) that’s a statement not a plan.
Damien really needs a better and more specific plans, maybe the tories need to give him senior help in terms of advice/plans as I personally was delighted to see the lazy libs move on but Damien is yet to deliver change and is falling into the “blame Bootle” rut and a lot of empty statements.

It is astonishing that the local MP...
1) Tries to con local residents into the belief that Sefton Council sets business rates... they are set by govt! i.e. his own party in govt set the very rates he attacks and then tries to suggest it's down to Sefton?!
2) Tries to claim he's doing anything constructive on the rail problem - he has postured and done little but try to shift blame solely on to Northern Rail when in fact the govt's handling of the whole issue is at the heart of the problems... what was his very first instinct when Labour's MP Lisa Nandy revealed in the House of Commons the emails obtained via FOI which exposed the utter contempt with which govt officials treated Southport and its rail users? Not to leap to the defence of Southport commuters and express outrage at the DfT's plans to employ a "classic handling strategy" by spreading false information to mislead local rail users, no.... it was instead to leap to the defence of Chris Grayling the Transport secretary!
3) Now leaps on the Lib Dem's petit-Brexit bandwagon of Southport out of Sefton but this "Souxit" is just another leap in the dark... no figures are ever produced by those pushing this to back up their case! What will be the additional cost to council tax payers? For instance, at a time when the Tories are pushing moving over to the business rate retention model to replace central core funding, what would be the impact of losing Seaforth Docks from our income stream? Local Govt is under huge financial pressures already and yet they want to create a new, smaller, authority with all the start-up costs and some huge local costs, such as the disproportionately elderly population? Where is their modelling to tell us what it will actually mean to already hard-pressed services and the potentially huge costs will be for local residents as it could mean a massive hike in council tax? It's an attempt at easy populism and avoiding the hard facts.
4) Claim he's green?! Well, I'll believe Damien is truly interested in a cleaner greener Southport when he vows to oppose fracking. Though tbf, he does seem interested in some sort of wind power judging by the amount of hot air he's producing here.
5) The man who has supported all these police cuts and voted for some of them then claims he's interested in a stronger police presence?!!!! Let's be honest, it's Tory twaddle trying to obscure the damage they have caused to our police forces and the rise in crime.

I hope Damien has kept his job open at ASDA as those of us who voted for him last time are unlikely to do so again if Theresa May gets her treasonous anti-Brexit "Brexit" plan through. The once great Tories will be toast nationwide because of this perfidy.

The proposals that Damien Moore has shown above are those in response to a survey carried out in the local area.
The business rates are set by the Government for the whole of the UK. Central government is not familiar with the problems and concerns of each borough, whereas the local Councils are - it is for the local councils to plead a strong case to the central government for reducing these rates. For Southport, the concerns are high unemployment in the area and a high rate of retail closures in the main town. Rail links would be an associated argument that should also be put forward very strongly in that since Southport is not close to motorway links, it needs the Rail link, also Southport is the closest resort to Manchester - a City that is enjoying increased investment - it is vital that Rail links remain open and on a regular basis to allow for a possible healthier economy for the local town. If the two arguments are successful, it would allow Southport the opportunity to become self supporting and would require less Government support in the future.
The population of elderly people in Sefton has been increased since freedom of movement was associated with people receiving benefits. At one time, those receiving housing benefit with their pensions were housed in their local regions. Under the new legislation, these people were allowed to choose in which area they wanted to live. Given the choice of areas within Sefton - guess where most retired people chose to live? It was only last year that the Sefton Council applied to Knowsley and Bootle requesting that they should create suitable places for these people to live as Southport was becoming overwhelmed with the numbers of people coming into the town.
Fracking? Were there as many protests when the coal mines were opened all across Sefton? With deep mining and explosives being used? The only real argument is, will the cost of Fracking for oil prove to be higher than the gains that are expected? It is not known just how great the volume of oil is in the area, it would be wrong to carry out mining where it would be highly detrimental to the natural beauty of areas because so much of our land has already been diminished with housing projects. Wind power has not provided the percentage of power that was estimated for due to lts lack of efficiency.
The government are considering proposals to ban the unpopular PCC offices all across the UK, thus releasing more funding to the Police Authorities. hopefully they will also see the error of judgement with the Regional Mayor offices, too.
Southport needs to come out of Merseyside. The town is not on the side of the Mersey anyway. The reason for this is that excess money raised in Southport, goes to the Liverpool Joint Council, comprised mainly of Liverpool councillors. This excess funding is not re-invested into Southport where it is needed. Southport is one of the most successful regions for raising funding and there would be more energy expended for new attractions, once it can be guaranteed that profits raised will be spent on the town. There are no real arguments for remaining within Merseyside.

He obviously consulted Baldrick in concocting his cunning plan.

As I just don't know where to begin with this lot of half-baked, ill-informed gumph, I'll not bother... suffice to say, your living over in Chester does you little good when it comes to actually being correct Marv' but I think it's more just down to the fact you make stuff up as you go along.

Whizzy seems a little obsessed about Chester and someone called Marv. Like anyone cares. (I suppose he needs another hobby besides fawning over Liz.)

This is an absolute lie that you keep on repeating.
The Liverpool City Region is not funded by Southport, Sefton or any of the other authorities within its boundary. The City Region has devolved powers from central government and receives its funding from central government.

Bootle is in Sefton so why would Sefton need to "apply" to Bootle?
