A St Helens man who has been charged in connection with the murder of a woman at a Southport travel agents is due to face court.

Andrew Burke, 30, of Vincent Steet, St Helens is accused of murdering 28-year-old Cassie Hayes.

Cassie was injured at a Tui travel agents on Chapel Street, Southport and later died in hospital.

A post mortem examination has revealed that Cassie died from a wound to the throat.

Burke is due to appear for a hearing at Liverpool Crown Court this morning
