Chester FC last night signed Matty McGinn on loan from Southport FC.

McGinn is likely to be used in a left-back role, but he has proved throughout his time at Southport that he is equally adept at playing on the left of midfield.

The 28-year-old made 38 appearances in all competitions for Southport last season, scoring seven goals, while he also spent a spell on loan at Skelmersdale United.
