A man has been detained following an incident in Southport this morning, Tuesday 14 August.

The 44-year-old man from Birkdale was detained at an address in Grantham Close around 2.15pm and has been taken to a police stationing for questioning on suspicion of affray.

No persons were injured during the incident.

Officers are in the Southport area following an incident this morning, Tuesday 14 August.

At around 8.25am, a call was received of a man in his 40s in Grantham Close, making threats and in possession of a hammer. No persons were injured.

He was reported as walking in the direction of Lincoln Road and has since been located at an address in Grantham Close. A containment is currently in place at the location. Further updates as we have them.
