I was there Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it along with many others and finished it off with a pint inside and a swift one in The Pines as we left.
LOL, my reply was to the other post - where they stated go into the golf, come out of the golf to lunch in Hillside, and then go back into the golf!

RB are expecting 25,000 visitors per day. If just 1% wanted to come out at lunchtime and go to those bars and then go back into RB, that would be around 250 people trying to buy drinks in the 4 bars you mentioned, 2% = 500 ... have you tried buying a drink in any of those bars on a sunny day - good luck with getting 50 people served never mind 250
You again miss the point, these places and others are being denied an opportunity to trade by the greed of the R&A.
The large events are welcome to the town but the "all-inclusive business" model does not help the local economy enough.
The R&A tout a £100 million impact assessment figure for the event but fail to mention that the money spent locally is a small fraction.
PS Oh and I missed out the award winning Sandon Road "Chippie"

So you're complaint is that 2 bars, a sandwich shop, a cafe and a chippie are missing out ? pmsl
Here you go why not stand outside RB with a placard directing some of these attendees to Sandon Rd chippie, see if they are interested

The food and drink prices are the norm for a major event. What is a rip off is the park and ride at the esplanade, the £2.50 sign has been taped over and I believe it's now £10, if anyone knows any different please feel free to post.

Didn't buy one.
We purchased some sandwiches at the Boat Lift on Sunday £3.20 each - but it was a lovely day out and we did not have to pay for anything else so we did not mind. If you have to pay exorbitant entrance fees would sour the day. Compared to £75 entrance fee at the golf!

Yes mine and others complaint is that local businesses are missing out through the R&A's greed, why would you not want to support them I don't understand ?
They employ local people and bring money into the economy and people who visit the open drink and eat fish & chips, the report is about the price of fish & chips amongst other things.

Went to the woodvale rally with my family the Two little ones wanted candy floss eventually found a guy selling it, and would you believe he charged £6 for two bags I could have brought the same two bags on Neville Street the 60p that's getting ripped off, never going back to that event ever again.

Why are people moaning about the price of food & drink, the prices are not much more than you pay at Southport Flower show, The car boot sales are not much cheaper for selling chips & drinks etc either.
No one is forcing people to purchase food & drinks.
