On 21/05/18, Merseyside Police received numerous calls about anti-social vehicle use on the Beach at Formby & Ainsdale. Officers responded to the calls, assisted with colleagues from Sefton Park Rangers and National Trust in an attempt to locate / identify the suspects.
Officers are pleased to report that a 22-year old male from the L4 area was arrested for driving & document offences. He was also found in possession of Cannabis.
This remains an on going investigation with the Suspect being released 'Under Investigation' pending further enquiries.

It is normal for there to be a "support" squad or squads, who can provide extra resource depending on the incident.
I don't know for sure but I would guess that Merseyside has one or more ready to back up in the north and south sections of its territory.
Last year I complained without response to Sefton because they took out six or so of the posts which mark the Formby-side perimeter of the car park, which created a tempting opportunity for the boy-racers to go on to the whole beach. Which they did.

Should have been down last night 22/05/18, young scrotes razing their souped up clio's and micra's all over the beach, including the section where no cars are supposedly allowed.
2 konb drivers stuck in the sand, pity the tide was on it's way out.
I felt sorry for the walkers and dog owners.

Cars should be banned from the beach at all times.
