Ormskirk and District Pool League has just completed its 3rd season and we have new champions, The Prince William in Dalton. A nail biting finish to the season saw Bar 22 overtake The Bridge to claim 2nd place and get their players a trophy each.
Players from the Prince William also dominated the league player of the year award with Ian Sheppard leading the way with 10 wins in the 11 matches . The Prince Williams Steve Murphy and Dave Usher came in joint 2nd with 10 wins from 12 games .
The league also congratulated Karl Prescott, who won all 8 games played, but had not met the conditions, 66% games played, for the player of the year.
The pairs title was won by the Queen Inn’s AdamPearce & Steve Slater after a long fought out battle with Bar 22’s Mike and Steve Denning.
The inaugural league cup final takes place at The Farmers Club on Wednesday 3rd May when The Bridge and The Prince William will do battle. A buffet will be provided and all are welcome to attend.
On 10th May its the semi-finals of the pairs, an all Farmers Club clash sees Karl Prescott take on Craig Caunce at the 22 Club. The other semi final sees player of the year Ian Sheppard take on Matthew Rimmer at The Queen Inn. Why not go and watch?
The final will follow the week after , with the presentation night scheduled for early June in The Bridge.
