If you don't understand that then there's really no point arguing with an idiot as much as no point asking you if you're a councillor.
I suppose we have hit a problem here. You think I am the idiot.

You appear to think that you make complete sense when you say: "... nor did at the last election did he say he wasn't going to give the full five years since his slamming of the snap election but supporting it is somewhat a moot point."

The problem is that it doesn't. In fact it's nonsense.

You may well have had a perfectly reasonable point but, unfortunately, nobody will ever know.

Not that it's any business of yours, but I know him personally and have actually fallen out with him over his attitude to "Brexit"
As I said before - check your facts pillock.

Not that it is any of your business, but I actually know him personally.
I fell out with him over his attitude to Brexit, lobbying for a second vote to reverse the decision.
As I said before - check your facts you pillock

I note you want me to "check my facts". Happy to do so.

So what is your real name?

This would then enable me to check your claims with Mr Pugh direct.

And just to be clear, what part of his (alleged) attitude to Brexit is it that you have fallen out with him over?

Are you upset that you weren't shortlisted as our next potential mp perhaps?

Anyway, to help you out here:

    1) John Pugh in his slam said he was going to announce his retirement in May but Teresa May stole his thunder. When he stood for election in 2015, it was a 5 year term, we can assume that it wouldn't be an announcement to retire in 3 years time. It may be ill health of course and I wish him well if it is as I'm sure he's a nice man but just not my cup of tea as MP
    2) he also slammed the calling of a snap election which could draw any logical person to the conclusion he disagreed with it, so why then vote for it other than to tow the party line?

You of course would have understood the above but are choosing to be ignorant.

The shortlist for candidates is probably based on who the Libs think are the best chances of winning, then probably think Cllr Dawson and others would be too much of a risk given past interactions and MP campaigns.... but I guess you'd know this being on the "inner circle"

Unless you work for him then you cannot do this given data protection and all that. John Pugh cannot share details of disagreements and discussions with other people. The only way you'd be able to check is if you worked for him or are John Pugh.
