RESULT Southport 1 Tamworth 1
Tony Gray’s early goal wasn’t enough for Southport FC as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home against mid table Tamworth.
Gray gave Sandgrounders the lead on 14 minutes but Tamworth battled back and they equalised early on in the second half with Iyseden Christie’s penalty.
Southport took the lead when they broke on the counter attack as Shaun Whalley crossed the ball to Tony Gray and he headed it home from close range.

Vinny Mukendi nearly doubled the lead but keeper John Hedge pulled off a great save to keep the shot out.
Sandgrounders captain Kevin Lee was carried off before half time with a serious knee injury after a tackle with Patrick Kanyuka.
Tamworth went close to equalising before half time but keeper Tony McMillan made a fine save from Iyseden Christie’s shot when a goal looked certain.
Christie found the equaliser 5 minutes after the half time break when he fired home from the penalty spot after Vinny Mukendi’s foul on Patrick Kanyuka.
Sandgrounders had a number of chances go take the lead again as keeper Hedge pulled off a save from Karl Ledsham and then Shaun Whalley’s shot was blocked on the line.
Southport had keeper Tony McMillan to thank when he made another good save from Kyle Patterson’s header late on.

Kevin Lee carried off

The injury to Kev Lee looked to be pretty serious,
Hope he's ok and makes a full and quick recovery.

I presume you have a licence to take those photos and reproduce them for public viewing?

The ban to OTS has been the biggest mistake of Clapham's life and has certainly backfired in his face because reports and photographs are still coming out of Haig Avenue four years on.
Clap trap clapham OUT

We should have won really the way we were playing. My son won the mascot competition so won a signed shirt, he was made up as was my daughter when she won a signed ball for wearing pink.

I was sat behind the away management team and the coach was forever saying to his players to move the ball up the line a bit on throw ins, then of course he was moaning if any of our players dared to move from where it went out.

The game changed following Lee's unfortunate knee injury ,the teams shape was altered and there was then a period of bad tackles from Tamworth players which should have resulted in red cards, they intended and succeeeded in breaking our play. However a fantastic October in the league, no defeats and some great wins.
Well done Liam and team hope you get a deserved manager of the month and roll on Stockport in the FA cup, despite our injuries and suspensions we should get through..

Different angles? Thats right, one half the camera is pointed at one goal when Southport attack and in the second half it's pointed at the other goal when Southport attack....simple really
