Stockport County were a league team last season and have a larger "hardcore" fan base than Southport, also their catchment area is more densely populated than ours.
Also they have just sacked their manager and appointed a Stockport "Legend" Jim Gannon, this was his first home game and it attracted approx 1700 extra fans, plus Southport took 400, so yes 4540 was a good gate, but look at the reasons why.
Having said that, we should be getting better crowds than we do, playing the way we are at the moment, 3rd in the league and in a play off spot we should be looking at 1800 - 2000, so come on down on Tuesday night, you may just enjoy it.

Agree with Rigsby get down Tuesday night and support your local team.

Why spend a load of money at Haig Avenue when you can watch a premier team down the road at the same price, it doesn’t make sense. Like I’ve said before and I will say it again for the idiots that don’t listen……..Dave Ball and many of the others who have backed OTS won't be stepping foot into Haig Avenue until OTS is reinstated. Turn up, pay up and shut up is the motto of clap trap Clapham.

It all makes perfect sense, You are not a True Southport Supporter, if you were, you would support the team through the bad times, not just the good and not come out with the comments that you do.
Non of the true supporters would dream of watching another team "down the road," be it Premier league or not, if Southport were playing at home. There is no passion, no highs no lows, no feelings of pride or disappointment when you watch as a neutral.
Do us all a favour and be a man of your word and stay away from Haig Ave, I'm sure you would be one of the moaners sat in the stand being negative, or maybe you are already there in disguise.

Mr Ball-being a reporter certainly adds to your creditability.
