The emergency services were called to Bankfield Lane this afternoon after an elderly male driver lost control of their vehicle and flipped it onto its side.
The driver was cut free by the fire service.He was uninjured and no other vehicles were involved.

How the hell can you end up like that in a 20 mph area ? Words fail me at present,as he could'nt possibly have been speeding,so must have hit one of those traffic calming ramps at the wrong angle to tip the vehicle onto its side ?

Really! Doesn't look to be anywhere near a ramp. Interesting theory though.
Shocks me that modern cars are so unstable that they can end up like that at all without hitting something rather large. Looks to have maybe clipped the tree.

I put a car on its side a few years ago, it was really quite easy the road was sheet iceand the rear just came round the front went up the kerb as soon as the rear touched th kerd over it went.
Sits back and waits for heroes to tell me what i did wrong

A bit worrying that's one of my regular walking routes, another hazard to consider. Dangerous business being a pedestrian.

and did you not find it shocking that a modern car could be flipped so easily? Which was my point. WITHOUT finger pointing.
Although I don't think sheet ice was involved yesterday :P
