Rainbow House Ramble 2017 - hundreds walking further for those who can’t
The Annual Rainbow House Ramble will take place on Saturday 6th May 2017 at 10am. Starting
and finishing at Bishop Rawstorne High School in Croston. Participants can choose 5, 11 or 18 mile
routes taking them through Croston, Mawdesley and Eccleston in the beautiful Lancashire
countryside. Really enthusiastic participants run rather than ramble and many families are
accompanied by their dogs.
Hundreds take part each year and it’s a great way to have fun, keep fit and raise much
needed funds. Fancy dress is encouraged and there is likely to be everything from butterflies and
bumble bees to rainbows and jesters.
The Deepdale Duck has promised to join Rainbow House mascots Libby Lou and Drew at the start to
take part in the fun.
The registration fee is £15 for adults and £5 for children under 18 with children in push chairs free.
All participants are asked to raise sponsorship and receive a pack including a t shirt, sponsorship
forms and training tips.
People who would like to participate can ring 01704 823276 or enter online at www.thelegacy-rainbowhouse.com or email fundraising@thelegacy-rainbowhouse.com
The event is supported by Goldseal Tradeline, Trust Inns, ViewSonic and Morrow Brothers Ltd.
Marshalls along the route and first aid cover will be provided by Ultrasec, Chorley and a warm up
session will be run by Rachel Bryan from Fitbop.
Carole Cochrane, Chief Executive, Rainbow House, said “the response to the annual Ramble is
always fantastic and we are so grateful for the numerous people who provide support. There are
too many to name them individually but we thank each and every one who works so hard to make
this event possible and supports us with food, drinks, gifts and their time .â€
Many of the families with children and young people who attend conductive education at Rainbow
House will be taking part or helping at the event including Jonathan Knowles from Todmorden who
will be DJ for the day. Jonathan has cerebal palsy and has been attending conductive education
sessions at the centre for around 10 years which he says has changed his life.
If anyone would like to sponsor any of the other participants, they can ring Rainbow House
on 01704 823276 or email fundraising@thelegacy-rainbowhouse.com who will take details and put
them in touch with the parents.
