With regard to this story... it also strikes me it's rather a foot in mouth job by the Tories... as isn't Damien Moore still a city councillor in Preston?!!!
Also, unlike Liz who does her Southport stuff entirely in her own free time and unpaid, he's actually drawing two remunerations.
Tory hypocrisy I'd say.

"If she wishes to represent Southport, then she would be well advised to stand down from her position on West Lancashire Borough Council allowing somebody who wants to see a better West Lancashire take her place.
"Her actions stink of political opportunism." Cllr. Currie said.
And Cllr. Savage, who has lost the last two general elections in Southport, was accused of bringing West Lancashire council into disrepute by Conservative leader Councillor David Westley
"What does this say to the people of West Lancashire and perhaps more importantly, the people of Ashurst in Skem. who she supposedly represents?
"If I was a Labour voter within West Lancashire I would be feeling very short changed seeing someone happily taking my tax money but spending more time in Southport.
"I call on Labour leader Cllr Moran to take decisive action and force Cllr Savage into deciding which area she wishes to represent."
The whole Labour chapter for Sefton appears to be very skewed. Tarleton?? Tarleton is a civil parish in the South Ribble ward of West Lancashire Borough Council and has a parish council. It is currently within the Parliamentary Constituency of South Ribble. Yet Liz Savage purports to support Southport - for what reason?
In addition to that - we have the Police Crime Commissioner who has had no less than THREE deputy Commissioners ALL who have been/are Labour Councillors?? AND a regional Mayor who is a Labour member?? Is this gang warfare or what? Is it a Labour press gang?
Whatever - it appears that Southport will have a constant reminder of what Labour does NOT do for Southport, every time we look at a black Lord Street.

In that logic should we assume when you scurry away from answering whether you're a councillor and what the lib dems have achieved for southport we should assume yes and they've delivered nothing but disappointment and noise (IN TWENTY YEARS)
Not sure why there's a bee in bonnet on this, someone does something for the town rather than moan or blame others....feels refreshing somewhat. Maybe if our libs did more then there wouldn't be much of a debate. It's also a bit much from the libs given their whole bile filled failed campaign was based on "but they're not local or they don't know the area" forgetting that Dawson, Lewis and Maguire had unsuccessfully stood in other areas

A councillor remains as such until the next election in that constituency - no matter to what area he/she moves to. Liz Savage has never been elected in Southport.

I have far more to do in Southport than I do in Chester. My family live in Southport - I only moved to Chester to a house that I had inherited there. Chester is Labour run - I most certainly would not like to see the same disasters in Southport.

Interestingly if you google "john Pugh achievements" it comes up as top result of his Wikipedia page with achievements crossed out....does that mean there were none? His third hit is how annoyed he is about losing to the tories
Do you still think googling it is the valid conclusion as he was our southport leader so maybe the libs should take a less pious view rather than various lib dem councillors and John Pugh "slamming" others.

As usual, you have completely missed the point Marvin... full marks on consistency though.
The point is that they are criticising her for taking an interest in some Southport matters when she is also a councillor in Skem... but she does it in her own time and for free... whereas DM is actually an MP in Southport AND a councillor in Preston... representing both and drawing two sets of money but that apparently is just dandy... think about it, you will get there eventually.

You told me before it was just your sister (and presumably any family she has) so stop trying to big up your connections... you are from Congleton, living in Chester and so nowt to do with Southport apart from your sister moved here... big whoopee doo. So stop peddling all this fakery trying to pretend you live here, pay council tax here, vote here etc. etc. as you have in many posts. It just ain't going to work.

Or maybe it's just that Skelmersdale doesn't have any problems that Labour councillors want to deal with.
But what she did do is beat the LibDems into a humiliating third place in the General Election.
Remember Prasnee - only Labour can beat the Tories in Southport. I assume Labour can count on your tactical vote next time to KEEP THE TORIES OUT!

What a shame seeing both Lib-Dems and Tories getting their knickers in a twist, come on makes a refreshing change, most MP aspirants who fail to win usually vanish without trace or try their hand elsewhere, Liz Savage has clearly stayed up to date and interested in Southport's affairs, it would be good to see our so-called councillors as actively involved.

What she did do was lose to the Conservatives (despite the fact that they didn't really bother campaigning). Wow!

ROUND ONE ONLY, not the end of the battle, the Tories have a temporary front seat, the Lib-Dems in the back seat.

Really? So how come is it that they've never managed to?
It's a matter of record that the only people who have ever beaten the Conservatives in Southport (on more than 100 occasions over the last 40 years) have been the Lib Dems/Liberals - that's apart from one time when the Southport Party won a seat off the Tories.
So how many times have the Labour Party beaten the Tories in Southport in the last 40 years? Precisely ZERO TIMES.

The Lib Dems have had at least TWENTY YEARS representing southport in parliament is a the collective years as our councillors both claiming to be FIGHTING FOR SOUTHPORT and yet it feels like it's been fighting with southport through petty cross part squabbles with other parties and themselves plus potentially councillors like yourself fighting anonymously with residents.
It's also likely that NOT EVEN TONY DAWSON VOTED FOR THE LIBS they're that awful.
So in summary calling out how many times the libs won is actually embarrassing as you can't even say what we've got for our years with the libs fighting for us.
Ultimately cllr you're in bald men fighting ive a comb territory here.
