Southport Beach is now open for the Summer season.

Looking worse each year the Council should be done under the Trades Description Act for the following comment on a recent press release.

Once in Southport you can leave the town behind and head to Southport beach, build sandcastles.

“From 22 miles of golden sands

Large sections are now roped off with red and white tape fluttering in the wind along with ugly fencing an traffic cones leaving a tiny space for cars to park.

The Jewel in Southport's crown is no more.

Sefton Council must be so proud of its ruination of the “22 miles of golden sand”.

Criticize all you want, there's half a dozen cones or a number of barriers and some tape.
If it wasn't there idiots would drive further out and get stuck.
What exactly would you like to be done?

Quite simple really - what these idiots want to happen is for the council to spend money it hasn't got maintaining the beach in an un-natural state for half a dozen people to come and walk on.
The pictures used are deliberately mis-leading to fit with the moaners agenda, the stretch of beach shown is kept in very good order during the summer season.
What they can't seem to get it into their thick heads that very few want to go to the British seaside anymore - other warmer, dryer and cheaper alternatives are available.

Judging by the pictures the reason it looks a mess is because cars have made a mess of it.

It comes up every year this in Southport, you know a bit like "The UK hotter than Greece" and "Brighton beach packed more than the Costa del bombo"

Southport will never ever again have 22 miles of friggin golden sand this is a natural progression of silt coming down two major rivers over hundreds and thousands of years, tides then dumping the silt onto the beach!!!! Hence the high water mark no longer up to the Promenade.

So stop blaming councils, traffic, over weight adults, the abandonment of Rainfords, Pinfold channel, the wreck of the Mexico..... whatever!!! IT'S NATURAL.
