In support of Southport Nightime Economy, staff from the Community Police Team have distributed Knife Wands to local Bars and Nightclubs in the town centre.

The wands will be routinely used by door staff as a deterrent to reduce knife crime and target those carrying weapons.

If as a result of his lobbying this could imply that Damien Moore has achieved more in 10 months for Southport Town Centre than John Pugh and the Lib Dem’s have in 16 years other than print a nice “town centre first banner” and plunge over a £100k fighting Sainsbury’s redeveloping Meols Cop.

They shouldn't be funded out of Public Money, they should have been paid for by the establishments themselves or the Security Company manning the doors.

Why? Surely the safety of the public should be paid by the public. Or do the knifes magically disappear as thy leave said establishments?

As I understand it, this is nowt to do with Damien and is part of Sefton's Safer Communities Partnership... rather naughty of him to try and claim it in this fashion.
