Conservation continues on Lord Street. Many appreciations to the exceptional Property Owners and Management Teams for having begun extensive restoration works on their Verandahs "Starbucks Southport" here in the Southport Town Centre. Once again it is a true delight to see another business improving our local environment for both local residents and visitors to behold.
Having originally raised this matter with the relevant stakeholders back in Summer 2015 during my original Town Audit I am delighted to have the full and ongoing support of another pair of sterling businesses and property owners who also appreciate the need to maintain and preserve our wondrous civic heritage for the benefit of the local community.
Earlier this evening observing the continuing works which have included the undercoating of the overall structural framework including the overhead grating; filigree and Grecian Columns with resistant Epoxide Resin undercoat before application of the gloss black and white dual layers. Meticulous care has also been taken to restore the central post of a Grecian Column where a crack had previously materialised during recent years.
A special thank you must go to the property owner for appreciating the need to preserve our prized local Victoriana and to local Contractors Andy, Kevin & Richard from "The Construction Company North" for their diligent restorative works for the benefit of the local community. This I believe will ultimately lead to further investor confidence in our local seaside Classic Resort town. Onwards & Upwards!

It's a great improvement to the site putting 'Councillor Barton Comments' in the title, we now now that it is an item to be avoided and we need not waste time looking at it.
