Southport Relegated To National League North.

Today's result against Dover Athletic confirms the club's relegation to the Vanarama National League North.

This afternoon’s results have confirmed Southport FC’s relegation to the Vanarama National League North. This is hugely disappointing to the Board, Team Management and of course, our supporters. We would like to thank the club’s supporters for their backing during a very difficult season.

The Club will work tirelessly to ensure a strategic framework is in place to allow the First Team to have a much more successful 2017/18 campaign. We will endeavour to update supporters on our plans as soon as possible.

Time for the chuckle brothers to pass the baton to people capable of running a football club.

The fact that we employed 3 managers and signed over 50 mainly mediocre players is nothing to do with us. Move on nothing to see here.

Charlie Clapham and his bunch of yes Men should be thoroughly a shamed of what they have done to a once great Football Club thank you Mr Clapham for absolutely nothing.CLAPHAM OUT NOW

  6. grassroots says:15/04/2017 06:51 AM
Very sad but the inevitable has finally happened, Clapham and his cohorts should do the decent thing and RESIGN . But I would hold my breath this waste of Oxygen hasn't a clue .

  7. ECHOEONE says:15/04/2017 08:07 AM
Who would take over the club if they did resign? If things are as dire as you all say it would probably go into liquidation and the land get sold for re-development. Careful what you wish for!

  8. theskinners says:15/04/2017 08:24 AM
It would not go into liquidation it's just that Charlie Clapham will not invest money so a new investor would obviously invest big time instead of putting it all in the bank for himself CLAPHAM OUT. ........... New investor in

Something Mr Clapham, as a business man, must understand is if the product does work it doesn't sell so business fails.

Sorry, should read:- if the product does not work it doesn't sell.

The photograph of Clapham sums the bloke up precisely. The club tie; the club jacket; the status of Chairman and the smug grin. It's interesting but not surprising to note that this self important, arrogant individual has not uttered a word in recent weeks while the club he professes to love has slipped inexorably in to the mire. Talk about keeping your head below the parapet! He doesn't consider himself answerable to anybody, least of all the fans. The people who spend their hard earned money supporting this football club deserve much better. They're never going to get it with this numpty at the helm.

There is going to be protests at the remaining home and away games to get him and his cronies out of our club. I hope all the supporters join in, we have got to do something and not sit back and let this club die, we want our club back.

Not wishing to disparage your attempt at a protest but if there are more than 20 or 30 people joining you I'll be surprised. Even if you managed 200-300 it wouldn't make any difference. To paraphrase a once famous TV sitcom character, Clapham didn't get where he is today by paying any attention to what the fans think. He doesn't give a toss.
